Warehouse Operative

Salary: £29,000 per annum
Reed Recruitment are delighted to be working with our client based in Moira. Our client has a requirement for a Warehouse Operative to join the team. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our warehouse activities. You will be instrumental in handling, storing, and dispatching bakery ingredients, ensuring that all processes meet the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and hygiene.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Operate forklift trucks (counterbalance/reach) and other material handling equipment (MHE) safely, adhering to company policies.
- Accurately pick stock for production and dispatch orders based on instructions and order sheets.
- Store stock in appropriate locations using barcode scanners or manual records.
- Conduct stock counts and report any discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and health & safety within the warehouse.
- Assist in loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring goods are checked in and out.
- Collaborate with production, planning, and logistics teams to ensure stock availability and accuracy.
- Adhere to all company procedures, including food safety, allergen control, and hygiene standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid FLT licence (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach) – RTITB or equivalent.
- Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Good attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move stock as required.
Desirable: Previous experience in the food manufacturing or FMCG sector, awareness of HACCP, allergen handling, or food hygiene practices, familiarity with inventory systems or handheld scanners.
