Transport Manager

Salary c.£48K – £52K DOE
On behalf of our client, a leading storage and logistics provider within UK and ROI. McKinty Associates are seeking to recruit an experienced Transport Manager. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in managing a fleet of HGVs, leading a team of transport planners and ensuring legal compliance within industry regulations and safety standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with senior management to generate and analyse essential weekly and monthly reports ensuring strict customer KPIs are achieved.
- Oversee and maintain effective communication with clients and customers.
- Utilize resources efficiently ensuring Route optimisation, fleet coordination and delivery performance.
- Monitor expenses to ensure adherence to targets.
- Lead and manage the transport team to ensure smooth and effective operations.
- Oversee operator licence compliance (NI and UK), acting as the named CPC holder.
- Ensure robust driver compliance, including licence checks, CPC and tachographs.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders including Warehouse, Operations, Customer service and Finance.
- Ensure that our track record of excellent customer service is demonstrated at all times.
Eligibility criteria:
- Minimum 3 years experience in Transport manager role.
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and compliance; CPC qualification essential.
- UK and ROI transport experience.
- Experience in a Temperature controlled food transport (Desirable).
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Excellent IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills..
- Excellent Geographical knowledge of Ireland and UK
- Proven experience managing budgets and driving efficiency.
- A team player with a positive attitude.
- Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and workload.
