You will be joining the Department for Communities, specifically within the Financial Management, Corporate Services Group – Finance Business Partner Team, based at Causeway Exchange, 1–7 Bedford Street, Belfast, BT2 7EG. This team plays a key role in supporting financial governance and strategic budgetary planning across the Corporate Services Group.

Your new role
As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the Corporate Services Group (CSG) budget, including allocations, profiling, and system uploads.
• Monitoring and analysing monthly financial performance, investigating and reporting on variances.
• Preparing key financial reports such as Departmental and Group Management Board Reports and Forecast Outturns.
• Supporting budget planning and review exercises.
• Maintaining staff baselines and preparing monthly workforce planning returns.
• Providing financial advice to CSG cost centres.
• Assisting with capital forecasting and the Rolling 5-Year Capital Forecast.
• Undertaking ad hoc duties as required by management.

What you’ll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must:

• Be a professionally qualified accountant.
• Have at least one year’s experience gained in the last five years in a finance-related environment, in one or more of the following areas:
  • Financial planning and budgeting
  • Financial accounting/auditing
  • Forensic accounting/insolvency-related work
  • Management accounting and cost analysis
  • Investment finance
  • Treasury management
  • Development/implementation of financial systems
