Job Summary

Job Title: Site Facilities Manager

Location: John Thompson & Sons York Road

Reporting to: Operations Director

Job Purpose:

The key accountabilities of this role are the responsibility for the upkeep of all buildings and grounds at the York Road site, including scheduled maintenance, repairs and renovations. Including the management of facilities related contractors on site, ensuring the compliance with site safety regulations and to agreed quality standards. As well as manage and control the facilities budget and the project management of agreed continuous improvement projects across the site. This role will also be responsible for collating and submitting all the relevant environmental documentation

Key Accountabilities: –

  • Ensure the site H&S policy is adhered to at all times and without exception
  • Ensure, facilities, grounds, cleaning, housekeeping, security and related services meet the needs of all site users
  • Manage the day-to-day maintenance/improvements of all buildings, walkways, drainage, yards, bunds etc on site.
  • Lead and manage the facilities team, ensuring the most effective and efficient deployment of resources
  • Completion of the annual submission for the Climate Change Levy Agreement (CCLA) and the Combined Heat & Power Quality Assurance (CHPQA) Scheme, and associated administration and generation of IPPC schedule 4 Reports
  • Support the efficient management of energy usage as part of the sites ESG plans
  • Complete of annual VALPAC submissions
  • Manage Waste Management Process to include selection of Waste Disposal Contractors, schedule of waste uplifts, maintenance of waste records and generation of reports
  • Develop routine maintenance schedules for all buildings, drainage, bunds & yards on site
  • Develop a network of third-party trades/contractors and manage when on site
  • Identify and project manage individual site improvement projects and participate in larger site improvement projects
  • Co-ordinate relevant construction professionals in support of larger site/ mill improvement projects
  • Liaison with the relevant utility and government bodies
  • Co-ordinate facilities activities with other functions
  • Manage the procurement and contract management of all facilities and property related expenditure in line with budget requirements.
  • Deliver agreed KPIs as agreed with the Operations Director
  • Accurate and timely maintenance of logs, documents and permits relating to health, safety and environmental (IPPC) issues
  • Ensure audits and workplace inspections are carried out and improvements are implemented as required

Person Specification: –

  • Have attained an Engineering qualification at HND level or equivalent
  • Have attained a Safety / Environmental qualification or 3-5 years relevant experience
  • At least 5 years experience in a facilities management role
  • At least 2 years experience of managing a team
  • Experience of negotiating contracts
  • Experience of managing contractors on site
  • Analytical ability and organisational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and team skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • NEBOSH qualified
  • Ability to act on own initiative with a hands on approach
