First Choice Selection Services is one of Northern Irelands leading healthcare recruitment agencies, proudly supplying temporary nursing auxiliaries to numerous hospitals and care settings across Belfast. We are now seeking an organised, energetic, and resilient Shift Coordinator to join our fast-paced team. This role is based in our Belfast Head Office. As a Shift Coordinator, youll be at the heart of our operations ensuring that our clients receive the staffing support they need and that our temporary healthcare workers are placed efficiently and fairly. You will work with high volumes of shift requests, using three different Allocate systems, and ensure excellent communication with both our staff and clients. Key Responsibilities: Match Staff to Shifts: Use multiple Allocate systems to review incoming hospital shifts and fill them quickly and accurately based on staff availability. Gain Staff Availability: Regularly contact and update our bank of temporary healthcare workers to track and record their shift availability. Client Liaison: Proactively call our non-hospital clients (e.g., private care homes, supported living facilities) to request available shifts and fill them efficiently. Communication Hub: Act as the key point of contact for temporary staff queries, shift changes, sickness cover, and general support. Daily Staff Management: Monitor attendance, performance, and compliance of temporary staff escalating any concerns as appropriate. System Management: Maintain accurate records of placements, availability, and shift fulfilment on our internal systems and databases. Team Support: Work closely with consultants and managers to ensure service quality and respond to urgent requests, including out-of-hours coordination. Performing out-of-hours work on a rota basis What We NeedFromYou: Excellent organisational and multitasking skills you thrive under pressure. Confident communicator with a professional and friendly telephone manner. Strong IT and system navigation skills (experience with Allocate systems is a major advantage). Previous experience in recruitment, rostering, or healthcare staffing coordination preferred. Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-moving, high-volume environment.
