MCS Group is working with a key public sector organisation as they look for an experienced IT Service Desk Analyst to join their busy ICT team in Belfast. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Service Desk Analyst with a solid technical background to provide first-line IT support across a wide range of hardware, software and network services in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
The Role
- You will provide first-line support via phone and email, processing incidents and service requests using ITIL-based processes.
- This Service Desk Analyst will support over 1,500 users with a wide range of ICT services including:
- Hardware: Servers, laptops, printers, tablets, rugged devices, peripherals, network devices.
- Software: Windows OS, Microsoft 365, desktop applications, antivirus, backup/restore tools.
- Network: WAN, VPN, and wireless infrastructure.
You will investigate, triage, and resolve incidents, escalating to resolver groups or third-party suppliers where necessary.Ensure compliance with all relevant IT security and corporate policies.Participate in IT projects and provide updates during team meetings.Conduct regular on-site service desk clinics at client sites when required.
The Person: Essential Criteria
To be considered, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Maths), or equivalent.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar IT support role.
- Demonstrable ability to prioritise workload and meet service targets.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- Experience supporting:
- Windows 10 and above
- Microsoft Office applications
- Active Directory and Microsoft 365
- Full, current driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
- Willingness to occasionally provide support outside normal working hours or at weekends when required.
This is a temporary contract for 8 to 12 months, with salary equivalent to £29,863 per annum (paid as a rate per hour for the duration of the assignment).
