Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Employment Basis: Permanent – Full Time
Location: Portadown
Driving Licence Required: Yes (reasonable adjustments considered)
Key Objective:
Oversee the commercial performance of construction projects, ensuring value for money, quality compliance, and profitability across all stages.
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare valuations, cost value reports, and final accounts (Client & Subcontractors).
- Monitor project cash flow and applications for payments.
- Handle subcontract tendering, procurement, and contract documentation.
- Manage and negotiate subcontractor agreements, ensuring appropriate costing.
- Lead monthly commercial and progress review meetings.
- Submit and track variations and contra-charges.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to align on costs and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records: valuation registers, payment certifications, procurement documentation.
- Assist in tender preparation and contract document compilation.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- 3rd-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 8-10 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying on Commercial, Residential & Retail projects (up to £10m in value).
- Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms.
Desirable:
- Membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB).
