ROLE TITLE: Senior People Generalist
REPORTING LINE: The Senior People Generalist will initially report to the Head of People.

As our Senior People Generalist, you will be a key driver in turning this vision into reality, providing hands-on support across all aspects of HR.
Partnering closely with the Head of People and the wider team, you will bring your expertise in best practice people solutions, ensuring that our people processes align seamlessly with business objectives while fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous development. You will play a critical role in enhancing employee engagement, talent development, workforce planning, and performance management, while also serving as a trusted advisor to managers and employees alike.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Line Manager Collaboration:
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on a broad range of People matters, providing guidance to managers on HR policies, employee relations, and performance management.
- Support in coordinating the performance management process, ensuring employees receive feedback and development opportunities.
- Help identify HR challenges and propose solutions that contribute to a thriving and high-performing workforce whilst ensuring a consistent and fair application of People policies and practices.
Employee Lifecycle, Relations & Engagement:
- Lead and support the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for new hires.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Managing employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance, and training across the business.
- Help maintain strong working relationships between management and staff, contributing to high morale and retention.
- Provide initial support on employee relations issues and when required lead in the preparation of ER cases, ensuring appropriate records are maintained. Escalate more complex cases as required.
- Proactively manage absence, both short and long term. Advising and supporting managers in managing long and short-term sickness absences by providing data, monitoring and reporting progress as necessary.
- Manage and review all employee annual leave balances, public leave and update relevant systems. Communicate all annual leave reporting to the Head of People.
- Contribute to employee well-being initiatives, including social events and wellness programs.
Performance, Learning, & Development:
- Assist in coordinating the performance management cycle, ensuring employees and managers are supported in setting objectives and tracking progress.
- Support the organisation in training and development programs that align with employee growth and career progression.
- Assist with and deliver training to managers and employees on relevant HR policies and procedures.
- Help drive a culture of continuous learning and development across the organisation.
- Work with managers through the formal performance improvement process
HR Operations, Compliance & Reporting:
- Support the maintenance and updating of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with UK/NI employment laws.
- Assist in tracking HR metrics and generating reports to provide insights into workforce trends.
- Coordinate visa sponsorship processes and global mobility initiatives as required.
- Contribute to HR process improvements and best-practice implementation.
- Support in the design and preparation of HR management information systems and ensure that the information management systems are accurately maintained.
People Projects and Initiatives:
- Support the Head of People and wider team in delivering People-related projects.
- Assist in executing initiatives that enhance employee engagement, performance, and overall HR effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement of HR systems, policies, and employee experience.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Education/Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree in Business, Human Resources or an equivalent degree.
- Level 5 CIPD Qualified.
- 4+ years’ experience as a People Generalist.
- In the absence of a degree 6 years’ experience in a People Generalist role.

- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and resolve.
- An appreciation of, and an ability to, positively resolve issues arising from different cultures.
- Ability to relate well to others, and build co-operative and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally.
Communication skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communicator with with strong copy accuracy and proofreading skills.
- Good report writing skills – clear, concise, and well structured.
General Skills Required:
- Good IT skills, Spreadsheets, Presentation software, Email Communication.
- To Comply with Health and safety policies at all times whilst in the workplace.
- Exercise absolute integrity in respect of confidential matters
