About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Implementation Engineer with strong expertise in software-defined data centre (SDDC) solutions. This position involves leading the design, deployment, and support of next-generation cloud and virtualization technologies. You’ll be working with a range of platforms including VMware Cloud Foundation, networking and virtualization tools, and hyperconverged infrastructure solutions.
This role will suit someone with deep technical knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to guide both clients and junior team members. Experience within professional services or consulting environments is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end implementation of SDDC projects, providing mentorship and technical guidance to colleagues.
- Deploy, configure, and support virtualization, storage, and cloud foundation solutions across both new and existing environments.
- Work with technical design documentation (HLD/LLD) to deliver successful outcomes for clients.
- Participate in technical workshops and provide subject matter expertise to architects and project leads.
- Support pre-sales activities by advising on technical aspects of SDDC and HCI opportunities.
- Deliver advanced troubleshooting and resolve complex issues in customer environments.
- Manage testing, client acceptance, documentation, and smooth handover to operational teams.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, project teams, and technology vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in implementation engineering or a similar technical role.
- Proven hands-on experience with platforms such as VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, NSX, VSAN, and related toolsets.
- Exposure to alternative SDDC and HCI solutions (e.g. Nutanix) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of supporting technologies such as cloud migration tools, disaster recovery platforms, or application delivery controllers.
- Strong background in either Windows or Linux operating systems.
- Experience with datacentre hardware installation (3-tier or hyperconverged).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team, while managing multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Certifications
- Professional-level certification in VMware technologies (required).
- Advanced VMware certifications (desirable).
