VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for a Senior Head of Assets

Responsibilities
The Senior Head of Assets will be to develop, manage and lead the Directorate’s business planning, operational management and performance, in line with corporate and regulatory requirements, delivering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Provide leadership for Directorate operational management, delivering, through the management team, a culture of continuous improvement and achievement that motivates and inspires the management team.
  • Provide leadership, via the operational management team, in the effective performance management of Directorate staff, ensuring that team and personal objectives are supported via an effective appraisal process, and the adherence to Association HR policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Promote and develop a work culture within the Directorate that is supportive of equality, diversity and inclusion, both in the management of employees, and the delivery of services.
  • Mentor, coach and motivate the operational management team to develop personal competencies and professional skills and knowledge in support of their roles, enhancing productivity and engagement.
  • Provide effective leadership of high performing specialist project teams.
  • Maintain and develop effective and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders including community representatives, local councillors, MLAs and statutory partners, ensuring compliance of services, effective service delivery, development of the supply chain and market reach and formally representing the Association as required, promoting its reputation.

Requirements

Essential Criteria
Qualifications and experience

  • Level six qualification (e.g., Bachelor’s Degree), or above, plus 3 years’ relevant management experience within a construction/assets management context (gained in the last 9 years)

OR

  • At least 6 years’ relevant management experience (gained within the last 9 years) within a construction/assets management context.
  • Experience of the procurement and project management of complex assets management projects / contracts and in delivering asset management modernisation, or continuous improvement strategies and programmes on a range of services.
  • Experience of building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with both internal and external customers and stakeholders, negotiating beneficial outcomes for all parties
  • Three years’ experience of developing and leading high performing teams in asset management projects.
  • Experience of effective management of an annual budget of at least £3 million, delivering high quality outcomes, organisational targets and demonstrating accountability to funder requirements.
  • A current full driving licence and access to a suitable form of transport
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete a Basic Disclosure Check

Remuneration
£61,429 – £73,468 plus discount benefits.
