Job Title: Safer Neighbourhood Officer
Location: Local Council – Neighbourhood Services
Grade: 5
Pay Rate: £16.65/hour
Purpose of the Role
Support safer communities by tackling anti-social behaviour, environmental crime, and on-street drinking. Be a visible, approachable presence in local neighbourhoods and work with partners to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities

♂️ Patrol neighbourhoods and enforce local by-laws (e.g. littering, noise, dog fouling, drinking in public).

Investigate complaints, collect evidence, issue warnings or fines.

Work with local agencies and community groups to resolve problems.

Support clean-up operations, crime prevention projects, and youth initiatives.

Participate in multi-agency operations and attend public events or meetings.

Build positive relationships with residents, businesses, and stakeholders.

Manage low-level incidents and escalate serious issues appropriately.

Supervise and motivate staff when required.
✔️ Essential Criteria

Full UK driving licence (or accessible transport for job duties).

At least 1 year’s experience in 2 of the following:
