Ensure that appropriate records are maintained, particularly those detailing observations and/or assessment of each young person, in accordance with statutory requirements agreed and policy and procedures. Keep in contact with parents/carers, educational facilities and as appropriate, other professional staff, regarding the needs of the young people. Participate in staff meetings, consultations, group discussions and formal supervision as required. Develop appropriate relationships & be a good role model to the children/young people. Establish contact with the local community, which would facilitate the involvement of the young people in outside activities. Accompany young people when necessary to contact, places of worship, holidays, outings and on other occasions. Contribute to the daily life of the home through engaging with the young people in activities such as housework, maintenance of clothing, cooking and promoting personal care. Assist with the supervision and purchase of clothing for young people, the care of furnishings and household equipment and undertake household and domestic duties which are appropriate to the care of young people. Participate in and contribute to training programmes when appropriate. Be aware of and implement the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Order (NI) 1979 as it pertains to this post and comply with the Trust’s Safety Policy.
