The Job Summary:
Wrightbus is the fastest growing production company in Europe, and we are looking for a a Composites Quality Assurance Technician you will ensure that high-performance composite componentsused in vehicle bodywork, chassis structures, and interior partsmeet strict quality and safety standards.
The Role:
- Conduct quality checks on composite components at various stages of production to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Inspect raw materials, pre-pregs, and lay-ups for conformity to specifications
- Verify part dimensions and surface finish using precision measurement tools and visual inspection techniques
- Interpret technical drawings, engineering documentation, and work orders.
- Identify and document defects, deviations, and non-conformities, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards customer specifications, safety regulations, and industry requirements
- Assist in the development and enforcement of standard operating procedures (WMP’s) for quality assurance.
- Conduct audits and assessments of manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions taken.
- Prepare quality reports and present findings to supervisors and production teams.
- Assist in root cause analysis and the development of preventive measures
- Ensure all rectification/rework is carried out and meets agreed standards.
- Implementation of all relevant processes and procedures within the QMS.
- Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally in relation to Quality matters.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade C and above OR An apprenticeship qualification
- 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing composites environment
- Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Strong understanding of quality control processes, inspection techniques, and defect analysis.
- Working knowledge of quality procedures and practices
- Working knowledge of Tool Calibration
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
- Use of metrology for inspection – measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
