QA Automation Engineer – Hybrid

We’re working with a growing technology team who are building high-performance, user-focused products. They’re now seeking a QA Engineer to strengthen test coverage, drive quality standards, and ensure reliable software delivery across both frontend and backend systems.

Ideal Candidate
- Knowledge of trading platforms or financial systems is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience with performance testing is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute automated UI, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools such as Playwright and Selenium.
- Perform manual testing when required to ensure full feature coverage.
- Oversee quality across frontend and backend components.
- Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and documentation.
- Analyse test results, troubleshoot issues, and identify root causes.
- Work closely with development and tech-ops teams to resolve defects.
- Produce reports on test coverage, optimisation strategies, and system improvements.
- Contribute to QA process improvements and mentor junior engineers in best practice.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in software testing.
- Experience with API automation, UI automation, and server-side stress testing.
- Proficient in at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript, C#, etc.).
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience using automated testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- In-depth understanding of software development and testing lifecycles.
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment with strong cross-team communication.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Exposure to Hibernate, MySQL, BigQuery, or NoSQL environments.
- Familiarity with automation and performance tools (K6, Infinispan, Ansible).
- Coding or scripting experience and a passion for continuous learning.
