Job Summary

The post holder will be responsible for providing specific tools to the required machines on the manufacturing lines to ensure production deadlines are met and recycling of swarf and off cuts. They will work work across all aspects of production operations within the Machine Shop, ensuring that production deadlines are met efficiently, safely and to appropriate quality standards.

This role is continental day shift (07:30-19:30) in the Machine Shop. Shift rota will be dicsussed at interview stage.

Responsibilities

  • Skilled in building, repairing and maintaining precision tooling, fixtures and jigs for CNC milling operations.
  • Loading tools into trolleys / cradles and prepping fixtures for dispatch to machines
  • Responsible for delivering tools, fixtures and returning to the appropriate locations after use
  • Cleaning and inspecting tools
  • Responsible for all quality control on all tooling
  • Stocking up standardised tooling cabinets for when required
  • Reporting and managing damaged tooling and holders
  • To follow all Health and Safety guidelines including the use of full PPE at all times
  • Continuous improvement of work area and outputs
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting
  • Ensure good communication between machine operators and supervisors
  • Use of forklift to recycle swarf/ off cuts throughout the recycling centre (Forklift training will be provided)

Requirements

Essential

  • 2+ years’ experience in a high paced manufacturing environment
  • Good understanding of tool making and maintenance
  • Good IT skills to include Microsoft Office
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Good knowledge of using measuring equipment i.e. Vernier’s
  • Ability to show resilience and a flexible approach
  • Adaptable to change and varying situations

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Haimer Microset Presetter
  • Knowledge of 5S
