A Production Operative (Buffing) in the Machine Shop are responsible for Buffing finished parts to a high cosmetic standard using handheld power tools. They are also responsible for providing specific tools to the required machines on the manufacturing lines to ensure production deadlines are met.
- Shift rotation is applicable
- Continental day shift (07:30-19:30) and Continental night shift (19:30-07:30)
- Shift rota to be discussed at interview stage
Responsibilities
- Responsible for buffing finished parts to a high cosmetic standard using handheld power tools
- Responsible for returning tools to the appropriate location
- Cleaning and inspecting tools
- Responsible for all quality control on all outgoing tooling and parts
- Responds quality alerts instantly
- Report and manage damaged tooling
- Follow all Health and Safety guidelines including the use of full PPE at all times
- Continuous improvement of work area and outputs
- Communicate well between machine operators and supervisors
- Other ad- hoc production duties as required

Requirements
Essential
- Experience in a production environment
- Experience in a high paced machine shop in a manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of or experience using Orbital Sanders and/or Hand Files
- Good problem-solving skills
- A keen eye to detail
- Good knowledge of using measuring equipment i.e. Vernier’s
- Knowledge of 5S
