Excellent opportunity for a Production/Design Engineer to join our team on a Full-Time, Permanent basis. To support the design and production Commercial Vehicle Bodies.
Job Summary
The Production/Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Designing and developing drawings and 3D models from concept stage through production process
- Ensuring all designs adhere to VCA standards
- Creating and managing BOMs
- Working with Production staff to ensure they fully understand drawings and build instructions
- Solving problems should they arise, ensuring issues are fully resolved back to root cause
- Sourcing specialised parts, specifying with suppliers and ensuring most cost-effective option is identified
- Identifying improvement projects within build process to advance production efficiencies
Education & Experience
- 3rd level qualification in an engineering related discipline Qualification
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience in using Solid Works or similar software
- Good communication skills
- Strong organisation and project management skills
- Excellent IT skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in using MRP software (current system 123 Insight)
- Experience in using PDM or Pulse
- Knowledge of VCA standards
