Procurement Specialist
Due to continued growth, our client a leading employer in the local area is currently looking to recruit aProcurement Specialistto join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a hugely successful business and join a busy procurement team.
The Role
- Manage supplier relationships and identify opportunities to reduce cost for purchasing requirements for the business
- Identify cost saving opportunities and contribute to budget control
- Analyse market trends to identify opportunities and risks within categories
- Develop and maintain global supplier relationships to improve cost and service levels
- Negotiate prices, terms and lead times with suppliers to achieve best possible results that meet company needs
- Conduct market analysis to stay ahead of trends affecting availability and cost
- Continually challenge and improve upon current practices and procedures
- Support and implement category and commodity strategy
Essential Criteria
- A minimum of 3 years (+) experience in a procurement / purchasing role
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proven experience in cost saving projects
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload
- Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team
- Committed and motivated
- A positive can-do attitude
