Our busy Electrical Contractor in the Cookstown area require a Procurement Manager to join their growing team.
They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Procurement to lead the procurement strategy and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record of managing supplier relationships effectively.
As Procurement Manager your Key Responsibilities will be:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
- Lead the procurement team in sourcing, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure quality and compliance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to optimize procurement processes.
- Manage budgets related to procurement activities, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure materials are invoiced to correct projects and cost codes for reporting.
- Working with other members of the Groups procurement teams to streamline buying.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new suppliers.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.
- Mentor and develop the procurement team, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to grow, we would like this role grow into Head of Group Procurement.
