Job Summary

Role Title: Principal Vessel Configuration Engineer

Reporting Line: The Principal Vessel Configuration Engineer will report directly to the Technical Director.

Location:

The Company’s offices are at Concourse 2, Queen’s Road, Titanic Quarter, Belfast. The Company’s production factory is close by at Unit 1 Oakbank, Channel Commercial Park.

Department Overview:

The Technical team is responsible to deliver the design and engineering of all Artemis Technologies vessels.

Role Description:

As Principal Vessel Configuration Engineer, you will be responsible and accountable to provide accurate vessel weight and cost estimates, as well as vessel configuration (appendages, propulsion, ESS configuration). You will work closely with all technical team departments. You will also collaborate with the Operations team, to maintain a clear understanding of the first of type vessels in production, as well as the production vessel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing vessel configuration process in line with business objectives and needs.
  • Create a vessel weight estimate process and deliver high fidelity weight estimate calculations and weight tracking.
  • Collaborate with the technical and ops team to create a tracking of existing vessel configuration and weights.
  • Collaborate with Programme and Business system team, to deliver accurate cost estimates based on BOM.
  • Drive high standards and expectations for weight and cost estimates & tracking.
  • Overseeing and optimising technical team department’s processes and monitoring efficiency to feed weight and cost estimates process.
  • Issue to technical director, regular reports on weight and cost for ATL vessel portfolio.
  • Supporting the ATL Technical and Commercial Departments with naval architecture expertise.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications and Experience:

  • Holder of a Bachelor (BSc/BEng) degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent collaborative skills and drive to create and maintain processes.
