Overview and Purpose of Role As a PLC Engineer you will lead in the full software development lifecycle, such as defining requirements, coding, reviewing designs, and testing at every level, including operating and testing the hardware on which the software runs. You will provide mentoring and technical direction, helping to identify technical solutions to realize design. JobDescription MainDutiesand Responsibilities Design,program,andconfigurePLCsystemsforautomationequipmenttomeet operational needs. Debug,test,andvalidatecontrollogictoensureperformancestandardsare achieved. CollaboratewithelectricalandmechanicalengineerstointegratePLCsinto broader control systems, including Telematics and HMI interfaces. Analyse andoptimize existing control logic to improveefficiency, accuracy, and system reliability. Troubleshootsystemmalfunctions,identifyingandimplementingcorrective actions to minimize downtime. Manage system backups, maintain version control, and implement safety interlocks to safeguard against system failures. Create comprehensive documentation, including wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and I/O configurations, to support ongoing system management and troubleshooting. Maintainsproductandcompanyreputationbycomplyingwithregulations. Contributestoteameffortbyaccomplishingrelatedresultsasneeded. AnyotherdutiesasrequiredbytheLineManagertosuitbusinessneeds. Maintainacleanandtidyworksarea RoleRequirements MusthaveanHNDorequivalentinelectronic/electricalengineering orrelevant working engineering experience. Aminimumof5yearspostgraduateworkexperienceinasimilardesignsoftware role Abilitytodesignandimplementcomplexcontrolarchitecturesinvolving multiple PLCs, sensors, and actuators. Knowledgeofindustrystandards,suchasIEC61131-3,forPLCprogramming. ExperienceinsoftwareprogrammingwithCodesys Experiencewithreal-timesystemdebugging,controllooptuning,andsignal processing. Excellentcommunicationskills(writtenandverbal)andinterpersonalskills Ability to work well independently and in a team.
