The Payroll Bureau will play an integral role within the payroll function, you’ll be responsible for completing and assisting with…
- Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients, including salary calculations, deductions, taxes, pension contributions, and other statutory payments.
- Prepare and submit RTI (Real Time Information) submissions to HMRC.
- Calculate and process statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP, and other employee benefits.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive data.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and produce reports for clients and internal management.
- Respond promptly to client queries regarding payroll, tax codes, and statutory payments.
- Assist with year-end procedures, including P60s, P11Ds, and other statutory reporting.
- Support onboarding of new clients and ensure payroll systems are set up correctly.
Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, RTI, Auto-Enrolment, and pensions.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero, BrightPay, ADP) and MS Office applications.
