Pastry/Dessert Chef

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a talented and creative Pastry/Dessert Chef to join their team and elevate their dessert offerings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, a keen eye for presentation, and the ability to craft high-quality pastries, cakes, and desserts. You will be responsible for designing, preparing, and executing a variety of sweet treats that delight our customers while maintaining consistency, quality, and efficiency in our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present high-quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and confections.
  • Develop new dessert recipes and seasonal menu items.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance of all baked goods.
  • Manage ingredient inventory and place orders as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness in the pastry section.
  • Collaborate with the head chef and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and bring innovative ideas to the menu.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in pastry techniques.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Dessert Chef, or similar role.
  • A culinary degree or relevant certification in pastry arts is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and flavour pairings.
  • Creativity and artistic ability in dessert presentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.
