Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a talented and creative Pastry/Dessert Chef to join their team and elevate their dessert offerings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, a keen eye for presentation, and the ability to craft high-quality pastries, cakes, and desserts. You will be responsible for designing, preparing, and executing a variety of sweet treats that delight our customers while maintaining consistency, quality, and efficiency in our kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present high-quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and confections.
- Develop new dessert recipes and seasonal menu items.
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance of all baked goods.
- Manage ingredient inventory and place orders as needed.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness in the pastry section.
- Collaborate with the head chef and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and bring innovative ideas to the menu.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in pastry techniques.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Dessert Chef, or similar role.
- A culinary degree or relevant certification in pastry arts is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and flavour pairings.
- Creativity and artistic ability in dessert presentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.
