Artemis Human Capital is recruiting for an Operations Manager on behalf of a leading manufacturer in the Dungannon area. With a workforce of over 350 employees their business is built on innovation, quality, and efficiency. As they continue to grow, they are seeking an Operations Manager with a strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement to drive operational excellence and develop a robust operational framework across the site.
Role Overview
The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations, optimising performance, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. This role will focus on developing and implementing operational structures, improving productivity, reducing waste, and ensuring efficient resource utilization to meet strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of daily production operations across multiple departments.
- Develop and implement a structured operational framework to support growth and scalability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, VSM, SMED, Standard Work).
- Identify, analyse, and eliminate sources of waste (materials, time, motion, energy).
- Collaborate with wider teams to improve process reliability and product quality.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure productivity, efficiency, and performance.
- Lead cross-functional projects to optimise workflow, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and employee engagement throughout operations.
- Support training and development of team leaders and supervisors in Lean and CI principles.
- Manage budgets, cost control, and continuous cost reduction programs.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years in an operational leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement programs.
- Strong understanding of production planning, resource management, and process optimisation.
- Demonstrated success in achieving measurable waste reduction and efficiency gains.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.
- Data-driven approach with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
