Verus Search has been retained by one of Northern Irelands Top 100 manufacturing companies as they seek to appoint an Operations Director.
Our client is an established and forward-thinking manufacturing business, known for its investment in innovation, sustainability, and high-quality products. Operating across the UK and Ireland, the company has built a strong reputation in its sector and continues to expand its capabilities through automation and a commitment to continuous improvement.
This leadership role presents an opportunity to join a growth-oriented business with a clear focus on operational excellence, customer service, and environmental responsibility. The Operations Director will play a key role in shaping the future of the business manufacturing function and contributing to its long-term strategic direction.
Reporting to the Managing Director and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Operations Director will lead the delivery of the companys operational strategy across its manufacturing site. This role holds end-to-end responsibility for production, logistics, maintenance, and health & safety, ensuring the operation runs efficiently, safely, and in line with business objectives.
The successful candidate will be expected to embed a culture of continuous improvement, drive cost efficiency, and uphold the highest standards of quality and compliance. They will play a key role in aligning operations with commercial goals, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders across Sales, Supply Chain, HR, and the wider Board to support the companys growth and long-term success.
You will be an experienced and commercially astute operations leader with a continuous improvement mindset, as well as demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading successful manufacturing operations in a large-scale manufacturing environment and driving operational efficiency improvements.
- Significant knowledge of manufacturing software systems, lean principles, and quality management systems (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Financial acumen and experience managing large operational budgets.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
