NQ Family & Matrimonial Solicitor

About the Role

An established law practice in Newtownards is seeking a newly qualified Solicitor to join its well-regarded Family & Matrimonial team. The successful candidate will assist in delivering high-quality legal services in family law, including complex and sensitive matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle family law cases including divorce, separation, ancillary relief, allegations of domestic violence, and matrimonial and civil injunctions

• Advise on childrens law matters, both public and private, including contact, residence, and Children Order proceedings

• Prepare legal documentation, court filings, and advocacy submissions with attention to detail and client sensitivity

• Engage directly with clients during consultations, ensuring clear and compassionate communication

• Work as part of a collaborative team environment, guided by experienced panel-accredited solicitors

• Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge in family law and contribute to continuous professional development

About You

• Newly qualified (NQ) solicitor with a passion for family and matrimonial law

• Exposure to children and ancillary relief matters (academic or professional experience desirable)

• Strong drafting abilities and ability to prepare clear court documents

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach

• Commitment to professional development and ethical practice (membership or accreditation with relevant panels is a plus)
