Job Summary

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. In this role, you will work on the design and customisation of aircraft seating, ensuring compliance with industry regulations while optimising for cost, quality, and manufacturability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions from concept to production. We are representing a leading design and manufacture in the aerospace industry for customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare technical documents, including specifications, mechanical drawings, and reports.
Support design reviews, change management, and root cause analysis.
Work with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks) to develop 3D models and 2D drawings.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve production and testing issues.
Contribute to bids and statements of work for new customer projects.
Ensure designs meet airworthiness standards and performance requirements.

Requirements

Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent apprenticeship.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a mechanical design environment, preferably within aerospace or regulated industries.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software and familiarity with PLM systems (desirable).
Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality standards.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on practical, cost-effective solutions.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Willingness to travel
