As we continue to grow, TES is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our expanding Cookstown team.
Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Reporting to: Design Manager
Business / Division: Water
Location: Cookstown, Co. Tyrone
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, Negotiable depending on experience
Essential Experience:
- Mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND or similar)
- 4+ years’ experience in a similar mechanical design role
- Working within a multidisciplinary design team
- Experience using 3D Modelling software (Revit, Inventor, Solid Works etc)
- Experience of fabrication design
- Innovative approach to work.
Desired Experience:
- Experience using AEC software such as: Revit, Plant 3D, Navisworks.
- Previous experience of multidiscipline projects within the Mechanical/Electrical Engineering sector of the water industry.
- Capable of contributing to the commercial management of M&E works including assisting with work estimates etc.
- Knowledge of ISO19650 BIM standards.
The Role
- Mechanical design of water/wastewater projects in line with client specifications
- Production of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) using Plant 3D
- Production and co-ordination of 3D models using Revit
- Production of general arrangement drawings, sections & elevations
- Production of pump calculations, equipment schedules, technical specifications
- Production of fabrication detail drawings for site installations
- Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain quotations for equipment
- Preparation of technical design submissions for client review
- Attend regular project design and site meetings.
- Liaise with, process engineers, electrical engineers and ICA Engineers on projects
- Comply with all ISO Quality & Environmental policies and procedures, and all health and safety rules
- Enjoy the full life cycle of a project from initial specification to commissioning
