Management Accountant – £40000 – £45000 per annum – East Belfast – Qualified or QBE
As a Management Accountant reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing financial operations across multiple group companies. Your responsibilities will span revenue reconciliation, broker commission analysis, and monthly drawdown processes. You’ll prepare detailed management accounts, reconcile balance sheets, and maintain fixed asset schedules.
You’ll also oversee quarterly VAT returns, assist with year-end audits, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting. A key part of your role will be driving process improvements, supporting departmental controls, and collaborating across teams to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive approach to financial reporting, intercompany reconciliations, and system development. You’ll also provide cover for wider finance duties when needed and support ad hoc projects.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or QBE with relevant experience
- Strong experience with Sage 50 or similar accounting systems
- Familiarity with CMS platforms linked to accounting software
- Proven ability to manage pre- and post-trial balance transactions
- Solid understanding of P&L and Balance Sheet structures
- Year-end audit experience and liaison with external auditors
Technical skills:
- Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Access, and Teams
- High attention to detail and confidentiality awareness
- Strong initiative and willingness to drive process change
- Team-oriented with flexibility to meet tight deadlines
Desirable experience:
- Commercial awareness and familiarity with SAP Concur, and Bankline
