About the Role:

Our client has an immediate requirement to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

The role will suit someone with a sound technical knowledge & experience who will thrive on the varied nature of the maintenance requirements, able to ensure the efficient & smooth running of the manufacturing processes.

This role will also include 12hr shift pattern and also be on call one Saturday every 6 weeks. There is also overtime available and provided with a rate of time and a half.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs without supervision during the normal working day and when on callout duty.
  • Fault finding and repair to production of Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic services and site plant and equipment.
  • Responsible for the electrical and mechanical engineering of hardware assembly and integration.
  • Comprehensively completely all appropriate documentation as required and up to date.
  • To work with & assist the team to ensure their displays are installed to the expected standard of the business.
  • Deal with any troubleshooting and take responsibility for the maintenance.
  • Ensure any defects or issues are logged.
  • Ensure you maintain a clean and safe environment which is compliant with relevant legislation and internal policies and procedures.
  • Participate in full on the job training that will be provided in order for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering coupled with strong mechanical knowledge.
  • Previous experience within a maintenance role, preferably food industry.
  • Knowledge of single / 3 phase electrical installations and equipment.
  • Have a working knowledge of PLC controlled equipment.
  • Have the ability and experience to setup and program motor inverters and various control gear including temperature controllers, counters and timers.
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawing.
  • Excellent communication skills.
