Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced litigation professional to join a growing, industry-leading Counter Fraud department. This role offers the chance to work on high-quality, complex cases, making a real impact in the fight against fraudulent claims.
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, provide strategic legal advice, and play a key role in identifying and investigating potential fraud. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about litigation, fraud detection, and delivering excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of litigated County and High Court matters, primarily on an hourly rate basis
- Draft court documents, applications, instructions to Counsel, and settlement offers
- Investigate and identify potential fraud using intelligence and forensic analysis
- Provide commercially focused legal advice to clients and attend hearings and consultations
- Diarise and manage key court dates and deadlines
- Negotiate with third-party solicitors, insurers, and other stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Court Rules, internal policies, and legal practice standards
- Maintain case progress and client satisfaction through effective communication and time management
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience handling litigated cases, ideally involving Vehicle Damage and Personal Injury (Defendant side preferred)
- Knowledge or experience in insurance litigation and/or Counter Fraud
- Skilled in forensic analysis and document review
- Confident communicator with strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using Case Management Systems
- Team player with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
