Doris & MacMahon Solicitors are looking for a proactive and highly organised Legal Secretary to join their team initially as a maternity cover contract (12 months), with the role potentially
becoming permanent for the right candidate. This is a full time position.
Responsible For
- Providing full secretarial, PA and administrative support to a team of solicitors
- Photocopying and scanning documents and managing incoming post
- Audio and copy typing of legal documentation to a high standard – around 50% of your working time will be spent typing
- Preparing and formatting correspondence and legal documents
- Maintaining accurate documentation and filing systems
- File opening/closing
- Dealing with emails/correspondence, calls and enquiries
- Diary management
Criteria
- Legal secretarial or PA experience preferred but not essential
- Excellent IT skills to include Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritise a high-volume workload and work to deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to changing requirements and see opportunities for improvement
- Flexible ‘can do’ approach with the ability to work proactively, use own initiative and offer solutions
- Team- focus with a flexible and collaborative approach to working with others, but also able to work alone
