Salary: £24.59 p/h

Location: Belfast / Hybrid working

Hours: 9am – 5pm, Mon – Fri / 37 hours per week

Duration: Temporary ongoing

Job Summary:

To support the Department for Infrastructure in a complex Employment tribunal case by:

  • Collate, review and analyse issues within case, gathering management information to make recommendations on case progression and actions required to address risks.
  • Ensuring case progression in accordance with key case management milestones and activities, including directions made by NICSHR, DSO or Counsel.
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders (Lead Officials in Department for Infrastructure, NICSHR, DSO, Counsel) to ensure an appropriate, cohesive case management approach is applied.
  • Preparing and/or drafting briefings, responses and submissions.
  • Participation in consultations, meetings with legal representatives, ensuring that relevant information is available to key stakeholders and any actions recorded and circulated.
  • Provision of updates and/or management information/analysis (MI) on case progression.

Essential Criteria:

  • Be qualified as a barrister or solicitor entitled to practise in Northern Ireland or be in a position to become so. A practising certificate is required which will be funded by the Agency.

AND

  • Have at least 3 years’ post qualification* experience of advising, orally and in writing, on significant legal issues, providing effective representation; and doing so in a complex environment**.

OR

  • Be a HR Professional with at least 3 years experience in dealing with Employment Law issues and/or experience of case managing employment related issues i.e. Discipline/Grievance/Dignity at Work in a HR capacity.

AND

  • CIPD and/or Employment Law accreditation.
