Laboratory Technician Clinty Laboratories is expanding into the analytical services market for water, waste and renewable fuels to complement our existing services. The laboratory is based at 82 Dargan Road, Belfast where onsite parking is available. Travel to other sites and customers may be required. Hours of Work: Monday Thursday 08:00am 16:30pm Friday 08:00am 15:30pm (39 hours) Benefits: Private Healthcare 31 days holiday (includes 9 statutory) 5% Company pension contribution Life cover 4 x annual salary (after 6 months) Enhanced Maternity and Paternity pay (after 12 months) Key tasks: Preparing and analysing samples in accordance with appropriate analytical test procedures and recording results on appropriate LIMS IT system Performing SQC and Round Robin analysis ensuring any failures are recorded and investigated with appropriate action taken Performing laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment e.g. ICP, Elemental Analysers, Bomb Calorimeters, titrators, glassware etc. Recording and interpreting results to present to senior colleagues Keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those which save time and improve reliability Following strict safety procedures and ensuring safety checks Ensuring compliance to all test procedures and quality systems Essential requirements: Good time management and organisational skills Proficiency in Microsoft packages Full Driving licence Desirable: Science Degree Practical knowledge of ISO 17025 Experience of testing within the water industry.
