Salary:£25,000 to £30,000 per annum depending on experience.

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our growing team.

About The Role
The Laboratory Technician will primarily and admin role, however the laboratory technician will also help in the laboratory when possible so experience in a lab role would be beneficial.
The role
Weighing and testing of samples.
Sample preparation in both Chemistry and Microbiology function
Sampling and testing of samples in both Chemistry and Microbiology function
Upkeep of various paper records including sample log sheets, test worksheets, media records, reagent records, equipment records to meet the specific requirements of ISO/IEC
Ensuring the hygiene of the laboratory and ancillary areas is maintained at all times
Accessing and retrieving data from the computer system as required.
Maintenance and upkeep of the Laboratory and equipment as required.
Pick up of samples if required
Answering customer queries if required
Any other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time.
Review of methods as required and implementation/training where appropriate

Required Criteria
- Preferably a Third level qualification in Microbiology, Food Science or related subject OR good relevant Laboratory Experience and knowledge of Laboratory Quality Systems
- GCSEs in English Language, Science and Mathematics, at grade C or above, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent computer literacy skills.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of microbiology test and results
- A-level (or equivalent) in a Science related subject.
