Job Description Kitchen Support/Dessert prep
Reports to: Kitchen manager then supervisors
Position available immediately
Hours: 1 x 35 hours approx OR 2 x 20 hours approx. (weekdays and weekends, including rotating nights)
As a member of the kitchen team, you will play a key role in maintaining hygiene standards, supporting dessert preparation and presentation, and ensuring efficient daily operations. Youll work under the guidance of senior staff with moderate supervision.
Duties include:
Hygiene & Cleanliness
- Wash dishes and sanitise kitchenware to EHO standards
- Maintain a clean and organised dishwashing area, using correct chemicals and quantities
- Participate in daily cleaning and end-of-day kitchen clean-up
- Support regular deep cleaning tasks
- Follow Health & Safety and mobile phone policies
- Ensure personal hygiene and help maintain safe, hygienic workstations
Dessert Preparation & Service
- Assist chefs with plating and preparing desserts during service
- Maintain quality and presentation standards
- Update the Pudding Supervisor on daily dessert offerings via group chat or senior staff
- Contribute to menu updates and design
- Ensure junior team members are briefed on the dessert menu and preparation
Stock & Storage Management
- Maintain and rotate dessert stock
- Receive and restock deliveries
- Label, date, and store food in line with EHO and food hygiene standards
- Record supplies needed and ensure the storage area is organised and compliant
Documentation & Compliance
- Assist with maintaining EHO and Health & Safety records
- Record dessert waste, breakages, and required supplies
- Ensure all practices align with food hygiene regulations
