About the service:
The Drug and Alcohol Services are commissioned by the PHA to provide a responsive Service within a low threshold context, to people who have injecting drug issues This work involves direct interventions in the community with service users who are homeless, developmental work and the daily management of a caseload.
The aim of the project is to assist I.V. drug users to access temporary accommodation across two existing sites i.e. Ormeau Centre and Calder Fountain. The work will involve supporting service users to access accommodation in these sites and then support them to stabilise and access services including treatment, benefits, court services, medical services and housing. In addition to assessing on going risk around I.V drug use and the associated issues, the work will involve close networking with a range of agencies including hostel staff, addiction specialists and housing providers.
