Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor (Steelworks)
Location: Pomeroy, Dungannon
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Start Date: Immediate
Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing steelworks contractor based in Pomeroy, Dungannon. The successful candidate will support the commercial team across a range of structural steel and metalwork projects throughout Northern Ireland and the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of estimates, tenders, and cost plans for steel fabrication and installation projects.
- Support senior QS staff with valuations, variations, and progress reports.
- Help manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate project cost records and assist with monthly CVRs.
- Liaise with site teams to monitor progress, quality, and cost performance.
- Ensure compliance with company and client procedures, health & safety, and quality standards.
Requirements:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or working towards).
- 12 years experience in a QS or commercial role within construction or engineering (steel experience preferred but not essential).
- Strong numerical and organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial software.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-focused attitude.
