Vickerstock are working in partnership with a global manufacturing business on the appointment of a Buyer on a full-time permanent basis. This sector is entering a strong stage of growth, so this provides the successful applicant the chance to join a busy and fast-paced environment. All you need is 18 months – 2 years’ of relevant purchasing experience!
As the Buyer you will create POs for a wide range of products and materials while having oversight of inventory maintenance, maintaining a smooth supply chain with production, sales and finance teams.

In your new role:
- Create Purchase Orders and Requisitions in the ERP system (Oracle) to meet demand
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure availability and prevent stockouts
- Coordinate freight and collections from suppliers as required
- Source pricing and availability information from suppliers
- Run overdue Purchase Order reports and expedite delayed orders with suppliers
- Maintain and update supply chain parameters and data in the ERP system (Oracle)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
- Resolve invoice queries promptly and efficiently
- Monitor and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
What you will need to succeed:
- Previous experience in buying/material planning
- Past experience building supplier relationships
Desirable:
- Experience in engineering/manufacturing business
- 3rd level qualification in related discipline
- Oracle experience
