Joiner – £15.33 per hour
Legal and Civic Services – Facilities Management
Job Purpose:
To carry out a full range of joinery tasks for council properties, including repairs, maintenance, and installations—either alone or as part of a team.
Key Duties:
Perform joinery repairs and maintenance (planned & reactive).
Work from technical drawings.
Order and collect materials as needed.
Record time and job costs accurately.
Join emergency call-out rota if required.
Drive council vehicles to transport tools and materials.
Erect/dismantle scaffolding and work safely at heights.
Assist in training new staff, apprentices, and contractors.
⚠️ Follow all health & safety and council policies.
Supervise staff if required and ensure quality service.
Represent the council positively and professionally.
Essential Criteria:
✅ Time-served Joiner or equivalent qualification (e.g. City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2).
✅ Full, current driving licence (or access to suitable transport*).
✅ At least 1 year’s experience in:

Building maintenance.

Benchwork/joinery in commercial properties.
