With a strong focus on innovation, resilience, and security, the company is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join its growing technology team.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key infrastructure services, contribute to major IT transformation projects, and play an integral part in strengthening the organisations cyber security posture.
Key Responsibilities
Core Infrastructure
- Maintain cloud services across on-prem and Azure/M365.
- Manage day-to-day operations of servers, firewalls, switches, hypervisors, and core services.
- Proactively monitor and tune systems to maximise uptime and performance.
- Own backup, replication and disaster recovery, including regular testing and documented runbooks.
Security, Compliance & ISO 27001
- Operate and maintain ISO 27001.
- Support internal/external audits (ISO 27001 surveillance/certification); close findings with corrective actions.
- Run patch management across servers, endpoints, and network devices with change control and rollback plans.
- Administer endpoint and network security tooling.
- Implement identity & access hardening: Entra ID/Azure AD, MFA, Conditional Access, least-privilege, PAM.
- Maintain logging & monitoring (e.g., SIEM/Microsoft Sentinel) and alerting with clear use-cases and runbooks.
- Embed privacy & data protection (e.g., GDPR) into solutions: data classification, retention, DLP and encryption at rest/in transit.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Degree in IT/Computer Science (2:1 or equivalent) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- 3+ years in infrastructure/systems engineering within enterprise environments.
- Strong Windows Server (20162022), Active Directory/Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Virtualisation, backup and replication experience (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V; Veeam/Rubrik).
- Switching/routing administration (Cisco/Dell or equivalent) and firewall management.
- Hands-on with security tooling: EDR/XDR, SIEM/logging, vulnerability scanning, email/web security.
- Practical exposure to ISO 27001 (ISMS processes, control operation, evidence collection) and change management.
- Clear documentation skills: standards, diagrams, runbooks, risk and incident records.
Desirable
- Certifications: ISO 27001 Lead/Implementer or Practitioner, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft (AZ-104/SC-200/MD-102), VMware, CCNA.
- Azure IaaS/PaaS administration and Intune endpoint management (compliance, baselines, autopilot).
- SAN administration and storage performance tuning.
- ITIL-aligned environments; prior experience in manufacturing/engineering.
- SharePoint/OneDrive administration and M365 security (Defender suite, DLP, Conditional Access)
