Be part of something brand new. Be part of something that changes lives.

Inspire is excited to launch Thriving Spaces, a first-of-its-kind support service for Northern Ireland, delivered in partnership with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

This innovative project offers specialist support for individuals experiencing hoarding disorder or hoarding-related behaviours, combining psychological insight with practical, person-centred help.

We’re now recruiting 3 Hoarding Support Project Workers to help bring this regional service to life. This is an opportunity to join a pioneering team supporting people to understand and manage their behaviours, build confidence, reduce isolation, and maintain safe, secure homes, not just by decluttering, but by getting to the heart of what’s really going on.

This role goes beyond home management. It’s about using empathy, trauma-informed approaches, and therapeutic techniques to work with people affected by deep-rooted psychological patterns. You’ll play a key role in supporting recovery, independence and long-term wellbeing, all while building respectful, trust-based relationships with service users.

This is a regional role, supporting people across the Southern, South Eastern and Western Trust areas, including areas such as Omagh, Bangor, Lisburn, Ballymena and Belfast, so travel flexibility is a must for this job. You’ll also work closely with our Community Wellbeing Services (CWS) and Floating Support teams, ensuring truly connected and holistic care.

What you’ll bring:

? Paid experience supporting people within a mental health or social care setting

? A full current driving licence, access to a car, and business insurance (reasonable adjustments may be made for candidates with disabilities)

? The ability to motivate, support and mentor people with complex needs using a range of interventions.

? Experience keeping accurate service user records and liaising with other agencies

? Confidence using IT systems and digital tools to support your work

? Empathy, curiosity, resilience, and a real belief in people’s ability to recover and grow

? Experience and/or understanding working with people with hoarding difficulties / hoarding disorder.

Why Join This Project?

  • This isn’t just another support role, it’s your chance to be part of something new, meaningful, and genuinely life-changing.
  • Shape a pioneering service that’s the first of its kind in Northern Ireland, supporting people with hoarding-related behaviours in a compassionate and informed way
  • Make a real difference by working with individuals on both a practical and psychological level, helping them understand the reasons behind their behaviours and build a safer, more empowered future
  • Be part of a warm, committed team that values empathy, recovery, and person-centred care
  • Enjoy variety and autonomy, with travel across Northern Ireland and the opportunity to connect with diverse communities in Omagh, Bangor, Lisburn, Ballymena, Belfast and beyond
  • Grow your skills and confidence through a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach, combining mental health recovery with hands-on housing and wellbeing support
  • Join an organisation that invests in people, with regular training, supervision, and a focus on personal development and progression

This is more than a job, it’s a chance to walk alongside people in moments that matter, and help shape the future of mental health and housing support in Northern Ireland.
