Based at our modern depot in Mallusk, youll play a key role in delivering to our network of SPAR, EUROSPAR, VIVO and VIVOXTRA stores exclusively across Northern Ireland. Every day brings variety, independence on the road, and the satisfaction of keeping our retail network running smoothly with no long-haul or overnight stays required. Youll be home every night.
In this role, you will complete all necessary pre-departure checks and delivery documentation and safely deliver goods to stores across Northern Ireland professionally and on time. You will maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness, report any defects promptly, and handle equipment such as cages, pallets, and tail lifts safely and efficiently. Ensuring deliveries are signed off correctly and returns are processed accurately will be key, as will using route plans while adapting to traffic or unexpected delays. You will also assist with loading and unloading, secure all loads properly, maintain a courteous and professional attitude with store teams and other road users, and follow all legal requirements including tachograph and driver hours regulations.
Please note: this role includes manual handling such as lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy loads.

Skills for Success
Minimum Criteria:
A current HGV Group C + E licence
Possess a Driver Qualification Card
Possess a Digital Tachograph Card

Desirable:
Experience driving for a FMCG company
At least 6 months relevant driving experience
Knowledge of vehicle refrigeration

Understanding of Driving Regulations

Hours and Days of Work
There are full-time positions working a core contract of 38 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, likely to be SundayThursday job to finish and overtime as required. Working on a 6th day, on Friday, every two weeks is also a requirement for this role.
Start times are usually between 2.30pm-4.30pm daily. Shifts are usually 10-12 hours long, with premium pay rates being applied to overtime hours. All roles are job to finish, and flexibility is required with regards to hours of work.
Please note: All driving is within Northern Ireland no overnights, no UK mainland work. Shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to discuss the shift patterns at interview.
Earnings Potential
We believe in rewarding our drivers fairly and transparently. Here’s what you can expect:
Competitive hourly rate youre paid for every hour you work, not just contracted hours.
Premium pay rates, including:
-Enhanced overtime pay
-Higher rates for sixth-day shifts (every second Friday)
-Extra pay for bank holidays, plus the day back in lieu
-Performance-related bonuses earn extra for every km driven, cage delivered/returned, washing and fuelling the lorry.
Typical OTE (On-Target Earnings):
Once fully trained, you can earn £45,000-£50,000 gross per year, with real potential to earn more through consistent performance, flexibility, and extra shifts all while staying local and getting home every night.
