Head of Technical
Location – Craigavon, 5 days on site
Purpose
Reporting to the Director of Technical Operations the post holder will work as an integral member of the Added Value Business Unit (BU) with accountability for providing strong technical leadership and expertise within the BU (and across BUs where required).
Key ResponsibilitiesMeasures of Success
Responsible for ensuring excellent technical standards and compliance to all required legislation and customer standards, delivering against agreed metrics and reporting requirements of the Food Safety & Quality Index, as well as technical customer service both to the Technical Director Relations and directly to other key stakeholders (where required).
Key Deliverables
- Overseeing all technical aspects of the BU through the site technical managers and their team, driving to achieve the highest standards of Food Safety, Product Quality, Technical Integrity and Customer Satisfaction across the BU including ensuring technical training is completed as per the standard
- Drive continuous improvement through engagement with the R&D and Operational Excellence functions and share learnings across our Business Units
- Provide a single line of effective communication to the Operations team, commercial and the rest of the key stakeholders
- Responsible for the setting the future technical vision and strategy for the BU through excellent collaboration with the relevant stakeholders in agreement with the central technical strategy
- Responsible for facilitating the delivery of the Technical Excellence Roadmap and Technical Pillar standards along with the other Heads of Technical and Operational leads as well as delivering any other specific technical projects which may be required across all of our BUs / central team
- Technical (dotted line) leadership for, and support to the site Technical Managers to ensure provision of an effective, efficient and professional technical service to the business.
- Support and mentoring for the technical leadership of the BU and the talent within our wider Pilgrims Europe
- Delivery of the seamless technical integration of the sites and BU into the wider Pilgrim’s Europe business
