Responsibilities:
Our Trade Surveillance Analyst role involves monitoring and analysing trading activities to detect and prevent market abuse, such as insider trading and market manipulation. Some daily responsibilities include:
- Use surveillance applications to track price and volume movements in various financial products like equities and derivatives.
- Identify unusual trading patterns and investigate potential market abuse.
- Prepare and present reports on suspicious activities to compliance and risk management teams.
- Work with different teams, including compliance, risk management, and front office, to ensure effective risk management.
- Identify gaps in current processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Skills / Qualifications:
- Strong educational background -Degree in a Finance, Economics, or similar a plus.
- Understanding of financial markets and products, including equities and derivatives.
- Ability to notice small discrepancies and patterns in large datasets.
- Strong problem-solving skills to analyse complex data and identify potential risks.
- Effective communication skills to report findings and collaborate with various teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing regulations and market conditions.
- Strong MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
