We have a requirement for a General Operative with our manufacturing client in Newry.
Your new companyA well-established and respected organisation within the steel industry is seeking a dedicated Production Operator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment where teamwork and adaptability are key.
Your new roleAs a Machine/Saw Operative, you will play a vital role in fulfilling customer orders accurately and efficiently. Working within a steel production or warehouse setting, your responsibilities will include picking items from computer-generated orders, handling large and heavy steel products, operating forklifts, cranes, and saws to move and process materials, recording stock movements and using measuring equipment to ensure accuracy, collaborating with team members to meet production and dispatch targets. Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times and adapting to changing operational needs and priorities.
Mon – Fri 8am – 4.30pm
What you’ll need to succeedTo thrive in this role, you should have previous experience in a warehouse or yard operative role (desirable), a flexible, results-driven approach to work and experience operating machinery such as saws (preferred). Forklift and side-loader experience advantageous.
