Job Title: Fitter

Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland

Job Description:

Thales is seeking a skilled and motivated Fitter to join our dynamic team in Belfast. In this role, you will be responsible for mechanically assembling and electrically testing products within a collaborative environment, adhering to process and quality requirements to meet our company milestones and targets.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions to achieve specified product requirements.
  • Produce assemblies and sub-assemblies according to Production Test Specifications, ensuring accurate recording of test results.
  • Apply a range of fitting and assembly techniques to complete tasks to the required quality standards.
  • Ensure that production equipment and tools are used and maintained to established workshop standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with your team to achieve production targets and deadlines.
  • Familiarise yourself with and implement the principles of the 5S housekeeping standard to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
  • Actively participate in ongoing Continuous Improvement activities aimed at eliminating waste and reducing operating costs.

Skills:

  • Proficient in working to Manufacturing Instructions and Engineering drawings.
  • Experienced PC user with good computer skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications:
Essential

  • Recognised mechanical/electrical apprenticeship.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical assembly processes.

Desirable:

  • Basic electrical testing experience is advantageous.
