Downey Osborne is partnering with a successful and growing organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant for their site in Coleraine. About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)

• At least 2 years industry experience in a similar role

• Strong attention to detail with excellent Excel skills

• Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across departments

Your Responsibilities

Always:

• Contribute to the month-end close and ensure timely preparation of management accounts

• Manage and update financial schedules such as accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets

• Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy across accounts

• Support audit readiness and contribute to annual financial statement preparation

• Prepare and file VAT and corporation tax returns in line with group deadlines

• Oversee day-to-day operations in core finance areas including payables, receivables, and banking

Often:

• Collaborate on budget planning, reforecasting, and tracking key financial metrics

• Ensure processes adhere to internal control frameworks and support regulatory compliance

• Work cross-functionally to provide financial insights and support decision-making

• Take responsibility for regulatory submissions and external financial reporting

Occasionally:

• Get involved in internal audits and contribute to financial process improvements

• Deliver one-off analysis and tailored reports to inform leadership decisions

Never:

• Be on your own the team is collaborative and support is always available

• Change the tyre on your managers car, unless you want to.
