Job Title: Field Service Engineer/ Assembly Fitter
Reporting to: After Sales Manager
Job Purpose:
You will be a key member of the assembly and after- sales team. Your role will involve assembling machinery at the production facility as well as carrying out service, commissioning, and installation work at customer sites across the UK, Ireland, and beyond.
Working Hours
Standard hours: 38 hours per week: Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am 5:30 pm
Flexibility: Additional hours may be required on occasion to fulfil duties, compensated in line with contractual terms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly and fitting of manufactured and purchased components.
- Interpreting and working from engineering drawings.
- Operating both manual and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ensuring the safe handling and movement of production parts.
- Contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the production team.
- Travelling to customer sites to perform:
Equipment servicing and repairs
System commissioning
Installation of shredding systems
Inspection and diagnostics
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar mechanical assembly or field service role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and engineering drawings.
- Experience with industrial equipment or machinery assembly preferred.
- Full clean driving licence required.
Field Work & Travel:
A significant portion of this role will be field-based. You will be provided with a fully equipped company van for travel to customer sites.
