The Role:

As an Experienced Wood Machinist, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Reading and Interpretation: Follow detailed technical drawings and instructions to plan work processes.
  • Material Management: Select and prepare timber or composite materials (Solid Timber, MDF, MFC).
  • Machine Operation: Set up, program, and operate woodworking machinery, including panel saws, Rip saws, and planers.
  • Measuring and Cutting: Accurately measure, mark, cut, and shape wood components to precise specifications.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality assurance checks to ensure components meet required standards.
  • Maintenance: Conduct first-line maintenance and calibration of machinery.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to safety regulations and ensure the safe use of PPE.
  • Teamwork and Improvement: Collaborate with colleagues, assist with larger orders, and contribute to continuous improvement.

The Person:

To succeed in this Experienced Wood Machinist role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in a wood machining, joinery, or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in operating both conventional and CNC woodworking machines.
  • Strong understanding of timber types, their properties, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
